What we do with your data
Written plainly, and describing this site — not a form filled in from a template.
This is the travel diary of two people, not a company with a marketing department. We collect the least we can: essentially what you type into the form when you ask about a trip, and the record of the cookie choice you made. Nothing is sold, nothing is passed on to anyone for advertising.
This page explains it properly, because you have the right to know and we have the duty to say it. It describes what the site actually does today — not what it might do one day.

For anything on this page, write to info@yurieale.it. There is no Data Protection Officer: the site is small enough not to require one.
What we collect, and why
When you ask about a trip
The form on a trip page asks for your name and email, optionally a phone number, how many of you there are, and anything you want to add in the notes. We also store which language you were reading in and when you wrote.
We use it to answer you and to organise the trip if you decide to come. The legal basis is your request itself — the steps taken at your request before any agreement (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). It is not a subscription to anything: writing once does not put you on a mailing list.
We keep it for 24 months from your request, then delete it. If you travel with us, the records tied to the trip follow the ordinary accounting rules instead.
When you write to us from the contact page
The form asks for your name, your email and your message. We also store which language you were reading in and when you wrote. The message reaches us by email as well, and we send you a short confirmation. We don't store your IP address: the limit on how many messages can be sent in a row is kept in the server's memory for a few minutes, and nowhere else.
We use it only to answer you. The legal basis is your request itself (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), and writing to us does not put you on any list. We keep it for 24 months, then the site deletes it on its own.
When you choose about cookies
We store one line: a random code, which of the categories you allowed, when, in which language, and which version of the notice you were shown. The same random code is kept in your browser, and it is the only thing linking the two.
We do not store your IP address here, and nothing that says who you are. Collecting more personal data in order to prove we asked about personal data would be an odd way round. The legal basis is our obligation to be able to demonstrate consent (Art. 7(1) GDPR). We keep it for 24 months — the choice itself lasts 12, and the margin covers a later question about it.
Cookies
Two, and one of them is only for us. The full list is here, with what each one does and how long it lasts.
Server logs
Our hosting provider records the usual technical log of requests reaching the server, which includes IP addresses. We do not read it to build a picture of anybody; it exists so that faults and abuse can be traced. Retention is set by the provider, not by us.
Who else sees it
Aruba S.p.A. hosts the site and the database, on servers in Italy. They act as our processor and see the data only in that capacity.
Discover Car Hire Ltd receives data through DiscoverCars, and only from visitors who allowed the matching category — refuse it and nothing reaches them at all. Where the data goes: Cipro.
Google Ireland Ltd receives data through Google Analytics 4, and only from visitors who allowed the matching category — refuse it and nothing reaches them at all. Where the data goes: Irlanda, con trasferimenti negli Stati Uniti.
Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd receives data through Meta Pixel (Facebook e Instagram), and only from visitors who allowed the matching category — refuse it and nothing reaches them at all. Where the data goes: Irlanda, con trasferimenti negli Stati Uniti.
Nobody else, and no newsletter provider — because there is no newsletter yet. Even the two typefaces are served from this site rather than from Google, so that opening a page does not quietly tell anyone else that you did. If any of this changes, this page changes with it.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to limit what we do with it, to receive it in a portable form, and to object to a particular use. Write to info@yurieale.it and we will answer within a month — realistically, within a few days.
You do not have to explain why. And if you think we have handled this badly, you can complain to the Italian supervisory authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
Children
The site is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. If a request reaches us from someone under 16, we delete it.
Changes
When what we do changes, this page changes with it and the date below moves. If the change concerns cookies, the banner comes back to ask you again rather than assuming your old answer still applies.
